3D Reconstruction of Blood Vessels

These studies are aimed at developing a technology that will allow 3D reconstruction of arterial geometry so as to better understand and treat the disease of the artery.

Extent, geometry, and character of atherosclerotic plaque in the artery could be understood better if it were represented in 3D rather than in cross-sections. Echo images obtained with intravascular ultrasound are processed using computer programs and resynthesized to produce 3D images.
