Labrosse, Ph.D.
Research Associate Dr. Labrosse obtained his M.S. in Mechanical
Engineering from the University of Nantes, France in 1992, and
earned his Engineer's degree from the École Centrale de Nantes,
France in 1993, with a specialization in Structural Analysis and
Design. He also obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from
the École Centrale de Nantes in 1998. In the same year, he joined
the department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of
Akron, Ohio as a Post-Doctoral Fellow and worked on the Finite
Element modeling of wire ropes and cord-rubber matrices. He joined
the Heineman Medical Research Laboratory in 1999 and is involved
in the stress analysis of aortic aneurysms. His research interests
are cord mechanics, Finite Element Analysis, the fatigue life
of mechanical components and the modeling of soft tissues. He
is a member of the ASME and of the Wire Association.
