Michel Labrosse, Ph.D.

Research Associate Dr. Labrosse obtained his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nantes, France in 1992, and earned his Engineer's degree from the École Centrale de Nantes, France in 1993, with a specialization in Structural Analysis and Design. He also obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the École Centrale de Nantes in 1998. In the same year, he joined the department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Akron, Ohio as a Post-Doctoral Fellow and worked on the Finite Element modeling of wire ropes and cord-rubber matrices. He joined the Heineman Medical Research Laboratory in 1999 and is involved in the stress analysis of aortic aneurysms. His research interests are cord mechanics, Finite Element Analysis, the fatigue life of mechanical components and the modeling of soft tissues. He is a member of the ASME and of the Wire Association.
